Rose McGowan

"Rose") McGowan was born on September 5 7th, 1973. She is an American
actress. McGowan's first film role was in the comedic Encino Man (1992), but
she earned more recognition for her performance in The Doom Generation (1995)
in which she was awarded an Independent Spirit Award nomination as Best Debut
Performance. Her breakthrough came in the horror film Scream (1996) and later
headlined the film Going All the Way (1997) Devil in the Flesh (1998) and
Jawbreaker (1999). McGowan's performance as Paige Matthews on the WB
supernatural drama Charmed (2001-2006) was her most well-known role. She went
on to star in Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's double-feature film
Grindhouse (2007) for which she was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best
Actress as well as the Scream Award for Best Scream Queen. Her debut album,
Planet 9, was released in 2018. The album was followed up by a repackaging of
Planet 9 in 2020. McGowan was awarded the title of Silence Breakers in 2017 by
Time magazine. This award recognizes McGowan's advocacy for sexual harassment
and sexual assault especially with regards to Harvey Weinstein cases of sexual
assault as well as the Me Too movement. She's written a memoir, Brave, and
starred in the four-part documentary series Citizen Rose, both in 2018.
